Chiropractic is the study, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of neuro-musculoskeletal disorders and their effects on the general state of health of human beings and vertebrate animals.
Mainly, but not only, through adjustments, chiropractic removes the primary cause of the problem and establishes its origin, be it psychological, chemical or structural.
Chiropractic has been recognized as primary medicine since 2007 also in Italy.
Chiropractic is based on a very simple assumption: structural problems of the body, particularly problems involving the spine, can generate dysfunctions in the body’s functions, especially in the nervous system.
The spinal cord, which represents the major way of communication of our nervous system as it connects our brain to the peripheral nerves, is located inside the medullary canal inside the vertebrae.
The marrow transmits the orders given by the brain to the rest of the body and all movements, functions and sensations are controlled by it, called the nervous system. The central nervous system is composed of the brain and marrow, while the peripheral nervous system is composed of all the spinal nerves and their various peripheral branches.
Since our central nervous system is enclosed and well protected within our spine, it goes without saying that a problem, a deformation, a subluxation, a postural change, a trauma and much more to this column can undoubtedly generate problems to the nervous system itself; It is equally correct to say that as our peripheral nervous system comes out of small holes in the vertebrae to go to innervate the rest of our body, a problem, a restriction, a subluxation, a trauma and much more to the vertebra can generate a problem in our entire peripheral nervous system.
According to the chiropractic philosophy, these interferences to the nervous system (whatever the reason) are defined as Subluxations and as such must be corrected and adjusted in order to make our nervous system function better, which in turn will interfere with the muscular system and skeletal regenerating our body naturally.
The main task of chiropractic is therefore to go and identify these subluxations and remove them. This approach is very healthy as it does not add anything to the system, but on the contrary it removes anything that can interfere with the normal healing process. Unlike a traditional medical approach, it usually tries to treat the symptom by adding something that comes from outside the body, such as medicines, operations or other procedures, thus solving the problem.
Good body maintenance encourages natural healing and minimizes invasive treatments, which should only be given if absolutely necessary.
A body free from interference tends to heal itself despite the conditions that arise and, very importantly, it manifests a high level of well-being that goes beyond being asymptomatic or painless and that often manifests itself in the form of fresh and vibrant energy both mentally and physically.
